HOW DOES COVID-19 INVADE THE BODY?

-

The name coronavirus comes from the virus’s characteristic appearance (in Latin “corona” means “crown”) and refers to the crown-like spikes on the pathogenic particle’s surface. COVID-19 (SARS-COV-2) enters a cell when a spike protein binds to the receptor human ACE2 (HACE2).
