Man indicted for hotel robbery
An individual who allegedly took part along with an accomplice in the May robbery of a Civic Center hotel was indicted Thursday by a state judge, said the Attorney General’s office.
Authorities said Jesús Epifanio “Doe” has been accused of the May 25 robbery of Real Inn Hotel, located at López Mateos Boulevard and Paseo de los Héroes Avenue.
The hotel is located a block away of the Department of Public Safety headquarters and the Preventive police department office.
The suspects allegedly arrived at the scene and one of them brandished a firearm towards employees.
Then, the suspects took 250,000 pesos, or $14,285, and fled from the hotel in a golden Mercury Sable.
The cash was property of Taquilla Express company, which was selling tickets for Marco Antonio Solís concert.
The other suspect, who has been identified as Víctor Alfonso “Doe,” was indicted in August,
The judge gave prosecutors three months to close the investigation and decided the suspect must remain in prison during trial.
