Armed man arrested for robbery

An individual was arrested Saturday in possession of a firearm and for his alleged involvement in a series of robberies of convenience stores, said the Municipal Public Safety Department.

The suspect was identified as Jose “Doe,” 39, who was arrested at 6:15 a.m. at Camelias Street and Río Nuevo Boulevard at Colonia Pasadina neighborhood.

The police said the suspect attempted to flee after observing the police officers.

Authorities said the officers found the suspect in an abandoned home.

The suspect was detained by the police in possession of a 9mm pistol loaded with four rounds.

The agency said the suspect has been involved in several robberies reported at convenience stores.
