Child dead, father arrested

A 4-month-old boy died due to head trauma, and his father was arrested by state police officers, according to media reports.

The boy was admitted at the emergency room at Mexicali General Hospital at 10:44 a.m. Sunday.

Family members told authoritie­s the boy fell two hours earlier and was eventually transporte­d to the hospital, according to La Crónica newspaper.

The boy, who was identified as Armando Alejandro Domínguez was declared dead minutes before noon.

Mexicali police officers apprehende­d the boy’s father, who was identified as Armando Eliazith “Doe,” 22.

Police officers visited the baby’s home at Fraccionam­iento Hacienda del Río, where the boy’s mother was found.

Authoritie­s found at the home the victim’s twin brother, who had injuries in an eye.

There was also a 16-month-old sister who appeared to be malnourish­ed.

Both minors were transporte­d to a Red Cross clinic for evaluation. On Sunday afternoon, the Attorney General’s office charged the victim’s father with homicide.
