Men sentenced for carjacking
Two individuals were sentenced to six years in prison by a state judge after the convicted men admitted their involvement in a carjacking case, said the Attorney General’s office.
Authorities said the sentenced men made an agreement with prosecutors that the judge accepted.
The convicted men were identified as Cristian Jovany Hernández López and Carlos Germán Navarrete Santillán, no ages reported.
The agency said the incident was reported at 9:30 a.m. in Sept. 9, 2016, when the victim was inside his gray 2011 Ford Flex at the parking lot of the Oxxo store located at Jalapasco Street and Manuel Gómez Morín Boulevard at Fraccionamiento Hacienda de los Portales I neighborhood.
The suspects approached the victim to ask for money, which the victim refused.
Hernández López brandished a firearm and demanded the vehicle keys from the victim.
The suspects fled from the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim filed a report and the suspects were eventually arrested.
