Armed man arrested for robberies

Police have arrested a man who allegedly took part in a series of robberies reported west of the Civic Center, said the Attorney General’s office.

The suspect was identified as José Julián “Doe,” no age reported.

The suspect had an active arrest warrant for the May 5 robbery reported at the Oxxo convenience store located at Querétaro Avenue and Río Nuevo Boulevard at Colonia Loma Linda neighborhood.

According to authorities, the suspect arrived at the scene and brandished a firearm toward a female employee and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect has been presumably involved in robberies of other convenience stores and pharmacies located at Loma Linda, Pueblo Nuevo and San Marcos neighborhoods.

Authorities urged witnesses to file a report if they recognize the suspect.
