Scots topple High Tech Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA — The Vincent Memorial High baseball team upset High Tech Chula Vista, 10-3, in a CIF-SDS Div. V play-in game here on Tuesday afternoon.

The Scots went into the contest as the No. 10 seed to the Bruins’ No. 7 ranking.

Vincent Memorial had two big innings on offense, scoring five runs in both the second and fourth innings.

With the win, the Scots move onto the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

Vincent Memorial is back in action at 3:30 p.m. today, traveling to face No. 2 Mt. Empire.

The teams have already faced off twice this season, with the Red Hawks winning both contests, 8-5 and 18-7.
