Jesus Cazares Pitones, 76, of Imperial, California passed away peacefully, May 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Jesus was the eldest of nine children born to Jose and Ramona Pitones in Calexico, California. He attended Presidente Aleman School in Mexicali, Mexico, for much of his education. In his early teens, Jesus worked to help support his family, taking jobs in public transporta­tion and agricultur­e. He retired from Castillo Constructi­on in 2011.

Throughout his life, Jesus was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfathe­r. He cherished his family and loved being with them. His fondness for singing ballads at family gatherings earned him the title “El Rey” among those who knew him well. This joy, along with his unshakeabl­e integrity and strong work ethic, continues to inspire his family.

Jesus was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jose and Ramona Pitones; brother, Victor C. Pitones and his wife of forty-two years, Maria Guadalupe Hernandez Pitones.

Jesus is survived by his loving wife, Paula Rodriguez Pitones; brothers, Jose, Cipriano, Santiago and Luis Pitones; sisters, Mary Rodriguez, Socorro Castillo, and Rosa Pitones-Adney; his children, Maria and Michael Stroud, Patricia and Mario Baeza, Jesse and Christi Pitones, Victor and Cheryl Pitones, Allie Pitones and Ralph Bellamy, Arturo and Sarita Pitones, and Monico Jaquias; beloved grandchild­ren, Austin Stroud, Brandon and Celeste Baeza, Kylie and Jeremy Baeza, Katelynn and Robert Brumley, Justin, Grace, and Sophia Pitones, Zac and Melissa Pitones, Alexandra and Victoria Pitones, Alexxa Solomon, Olivia and Liliana Pitones and many friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Imperial. Mass will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church in Imperial, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro immediatel­y following mass.
