RUBEN A. BELTRAN

Aug. 25, 1960 - Nov. 8, 2018

Ruben Beltran, 58, of El Centro passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

He resided in El Centro his whole life and graduated from Central Union High School in 1978. He began his career as a firefighter with the Imperial County Fire department at the age of 17. He later moved to the Calexico Fire Department where he became a highly respected Fire Engineer and Paramedic. He was the recipient of the EMT-P of the Year award twice. He retired from the fire service in 2008, but continued his love of caring for others in the role of a private care provider. He was also well known for being a drummer, playing with Cartoon and the Animators, Bad Attitude, and Night Wind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alicia Beltran.

Ruben is survived by 6 children, Stephen Beltran, Christine Beltran, Jennifer Nives, Melanie Beltran, Erika Beltran, and Michael Beltran; 3 Siblings, Mary Jean BeltranHerridge, Norma Loepfe, and Victor Beltran.

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary. 1975 S 4th St, El Centro, CA. The church services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Faith Assembly. 320 S J St, Imperial, CA and will be officiated by Pastor Dan Bruce.

A Celebration of Life will follow the church services at the Eagles Lodge 661 W State St, El Centro, CA. Anyone who knew Ruben is welcome to attend any of these events. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and kind words.
