Property taxes coming due

Imperial County Tax Collector Karen Vogel has sent out a reminder for all taxpayers that their first installment of real property taxes is due Dec. 10.

Payments must by in the Tax Collector’s Office by 5 p.m. or bear a postmark of Dec. 10, 2018, in order to avoid being delinquent.

Delinquent parcels will receive a 10 percent penalty effective Dec. 11.

Property owners who have paid their taxes through impound accounts, but have recently refinanced or paid off their home loans should be aware that they may now be responsible for paying the property tax bills themselves.

The Imperial County Tax Collectors Office is located at 940 W. Main St., Suite 106, El Centro.
