High school teachers get paid

-

After several days of controversy, high school teachers of the Cecyte System announced the state has paid their back salaries.

The Workers Power Union said the payment was made Friday.

Classes will resume Monday in the system’s campuses.

The union said it is uncertain the date members will get paid their legally mandated Christmas bonus, called Aguinaldo, and their vacations, among other benefits due on Dec. 14.

In a memo made public by the union, Cecyte General Director José Luis Kato said the Mexican government has committed to the disbursement of additional funds that will allow the system to pay the benefits.
