Teenager arrested for murder

An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly killing a minor with a knife, the Municipal Department of Public Safety said.

The suspect was identified as Jose Manuel Doe, who was arrested at 5:17 p.m. at 688 Tilapa St. at Fraccionamiento Angeles de Puebla neighborhood in southeastern Mexicali.

Authorities said the suspect allegedly killed Ignacio Rafael Rodriguez Ambriz, 10.

The minor’s grandfather called authorities after finding the victim.

The man called the police, who arrived shortly and requested medical assistance.

Firefighters arrived and confirmed the minor’s death.

Police agents interviewed the suspect’s father, who said he called 911 after seeing his son with a knife.

The police arrested the suspect, who was found with an ear in his pants while being booked.
