Man arrested for homicide

The Attorney General’s office has announced the arrest of Emmanuel “Doe,” 37, aka “Ñoño,” for his alleged involvement in the June 2019 homicide at a rehabilitation center.

Víctor López Zamora, 51, was a patient at the Amigos por Siempre or Friends Forever rehabilitation center located at Ejido Puebla, southeast of Mexicali.

On June 14, the victim, who had been admitted to the center by his family, was reportedly subdued by the suspect and two other men and beaten in one of the center’s detox rooms.

The center notified Zamora’s daughter of the incident, and she took him to a private clinic for care.

Zamora reportedly died at the Red Cross East clinic from injuries in the abdominal and chest areas, as well as in the face.
