Husband and wife killed in apparent murder-suicide
BRAWLEY — A shooting incident Friday that resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman is being investigated as a murder-suicide, police Cmdr. Brett Houser confirmed.
Police responded at 6:14 p.m. to a domestic violence incident that resulted in a shooting in the 700 block of Milano Court. According to Brawley police logs, a reporting party called dispatchers to report that their father had shot their mother in the head and then shot himself in the head.
The caller was disconnected, according to logs, and could not be reached on a callback.
Several units responded to the scene to find a 47-year-old male and 43-year-old female with gunshot wounds to the head. According to Sheriff’s Office logs, the woman was still alive when responders arrived, and an air ambulance was requested.
Attempts to treat her and the husband were unsuccessful.
Names of the victims have not been released. Houser said there are no outstanding suspects and the Brawley Police Department Investigation Division is investigating the incident.
