Flu kills three more

Three more recent deaths have been linked to the flu, bringing the state death toll to 20 this flu season, a state official said.

State Chief Epidemiologist Oscar Zazueta said 136 confirmed cases have been reported during the winter season. Of those one was AH3N2, 14 were A Type, two were B Type and 119 were AH1N1.

Mexicali has reported 56 of those cases.

The number of fatalities due to flu increased to 20 after three Ensenada cases were registered.

Zazueta said dead patients had other health issues like diabetes, high blood pressure or were smokers.

Public Health Services Director Néstor Saúl Hernández said the state is 11th nationwide in the number of flu victims and eighth in deaths.
