Registration opens for reading program

-

Registration for Camarena Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program will begin today.

Visit the library’s web page at https://calexicolibrary.org to register each member of the family who will be participating.

This year’s program will run from Monday through Aug. 13. All ages are welcome.

Those needing to renew their Camarena library card should call (760) 768-2170. Those who have never had one should complete the application found at the library’s website and email it with a copy of their ID to library@ calexico.ca.gov.

Users should call or email to request materials. They can use digital resources like BookFLIX, Hoopla and the Libby App (Overdrive) to read materials. Then, once per week, they can go back to the website and log their reading. There will be prizes for children and teens at the end of the program.

Also, a craft activity packet will be available for pickup at the library. Participants may pick up the packets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Packets are for kids and teens only. There is one craft activity per week.

Participants may join the library on Facebook to watch presentations and follow along to complete the craft activities. Teens can find the library on Instagram @camarenalibrary.

Those who would like to participate in Zoom programming may send the library an email and let staff know. The library will send a weekly link.

Check the library’s monthly calendar of activities for dates and time for Baby Time, Storytime, Adult Book Club and Conversation Class for Adults.
