NORA JANE FRILEY Apr. 4, 1936 - June 27, 2020

Nora Jane Friley, 84, of Brawley passed away on Saturday, J une 27, 2020.

Nora was born on April 4, 1 936, in Arkansas to Homer and Shirley Krigbaum. In the early ‘50s she moved to B rawley, C alifornia, and married Jesse Calvin Friley in 1954. N ora spent her life surrounded by family and enjoyed caring for those she held dear. She was a sweet and loving wife, mother, sister, and grandma w hose door was always open if you needed unconditio­nal l ove and a home cooked meal. There was always r oom at her table. When she wasn’t busy cooking or taking care of her grandkids, she was probably o ff shopping with her mom, sisters, or daughters.

Nora w as i nvolved in the American Legion of Brawley, t he Baptist Church of B rawley, and she loved to a ttend the Women’s Auxiliary luncheons.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Shirley Krigbaum; her husband, Calvin Friley and their son, Steve Friley.

She is survived by h er son, Tony (Shannon) Friley; her daughters, Dorothy (Bruce) S mith and Debbie Pistole; eight grandkids, 21 great grandkids; her sisters, Rosie (Rickie) Aleksick and Ellen Petite and brother, Johnny (Sandra) Krigbaum.

Services will be private.

RICHARD C. “DICK” WYMORE Jan. 27, 1925 - July 9, 2020

Richard C. (Dick) Wymore was born on January 27, 1925. He went to be with his Lord on July 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by h is wife, Mary Ellen Wymore.

Dick entered the Navy in May 1943, where he was trained to be a machinist. He served aboard the escort carrier USS Nehenta Bay (CVE 74) as a machinist mate. He came to El Centro in June, 1947, to s tart a machine shop which has remained in business for 73 years. He retired in 2004 and his daughter took over until 2 018, at which time his grandson took charge. He was honored by being selected to be an Honorary Blue Angel and had a ride in one of their planes. He was also named “Kiwanian of the Year” and was active in many other c ivic o rganizatio­ns, such as the American Heart Associatio­n and the American Cancer Society, as well as being very involved in his church. He will be remembered as a man of generosity, i ntegrity, and friendline­ss. H e enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with h is family.

He is survived by his three children, Tom, Rich and Marla Wymore many grandchild­ren and great- grand children.

A private memorial service will be held on July 21, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery.
