Music school project introduced
A project has been introduced to create a new music school in Colonia Esperanza neighborhood.
Tito Quiroz Angulo, of Ensenada, presented state authorities with a proposal to open the Benning Music Academy, which would provide music classes to girls, boys and young people from vulnerable communities.
Quiroz Angulo has two schools called the Benning Music Academy, one in Cuernavaca, Morelos, and the other in Ensenada.
The project’s promoter said that, in his personal experience, music can make a difference in a person’s life.
“Music makes a difference in vulnerable areas,” he said. “Through art you can touch hearts.”
Quiroz Angulo said he grew up in San Quintín in an orphanage called Cristo por su Mundo, where he realized that for those born in difficult situations, music can change the perspective of what people can achieve in their lives.
The project was presented to Secretary of Government Amador Rodríguez Lozano, who expressed his support for the opening of the school.
The official said Gov. Jaime Bonilla donated a property for Mexicali’s project.
Quiroz Angulo was born on Sept. 20, 1986, in Ensenada. He holds a master’s degree in management and public policy from Iberoamericana University.
In addition, he is a violinist, musical advisor to several children and youth orchestras, and a trial lawyer in the civil and business areas.
As founder of the Benning Music Academy civil association, he has supported more than 700 children and youth from vulnerable groups.
Quiroz Angulo was awarded the National Youth Award in 2015.
