PEDRO A. CAMACHO “PETE”

On March 27, 2021 at the age of 6 9, Pedro peacefully passed away while sleeping at h is home.

Pedro was born on December 13, 1951 in El Centro. He was the 11th of 12 children born to his parents Alberto and Jesus A. Camacho. Pedro, along with his siblings were raised in Calexico, where he graduated from Calexico “Bulldogs” High School i n 1970 winning some high school basketball championships and receiving awards for his individual p lay on the court. His family migrated back and forth from Calexico to M onterey County following agricultural farm work.

Pedro was the life of the party, an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family. H is love f or the Dodgers, t he Rams and the Lakers was one of a kind. As he would say, “I bleed Dodger Blue.” He looked forward to p lacing bets on his teams every week.

He lived his life the way he wanted to, “carefree,” always joking and making everyone around him laugh.

Pedro loved his four children and eleven grandchildren tremendously, a lways calling every single one of them on their birthdays and holidays. Pedro will be missed deeply b ut not forgotten.

He is survived by his four children, Pedro Camacho Jr., Kimberly Camacho-Tacdol ( Will), Eddie Camacho and Cristoval Camacho (Marla); His eleven grandchildren, Kristen, Khasandra, Lisa, Karinah, Christal, Lori, Kaitlyn, Chris Jr., Jacob, Anthony and Lili; his three great- grandchildren, Alex, Aiden and Ava; his brothers, Alberto Jr., Lucio, Jesus, Armando and Arturo; numerous nephews and nieces.

Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Antonio, Paula, Manuel, Cecilia, Jose and Francisco.

A viewing will be held on April 16, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Alta Vista Mortuary, 41 E. Alisal S t., Salinas, CA 93901 (831) 424- 9700. A funeral mass will immediately follow from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas California 93906 ( 831) 422- 5323.
