A.S. Council ready for eventful year
During the pandemic, Associated Students witnessed many constraints related to the COVID-19 regulations, This provoked an isolation from the students, leading to a disconnection of the student body in the many events held in a virtual platform.
As soon as SDSU COVID- 19 policies changed and a notice of coming back to in- person activities was given to the SDSU community, A.S. got creative and put together a series of drive-through events to raise the student involvement during the end of the Spring 2020 semester.
The recently swornin SDSU IV council was prepared to embark on an historical moment for both the A. S. and students at large. Under this leadership, A. S. has
added more executive positions such as Vice President of Finance and Vice President of University Aairs. These positions are designed to create a direct bond on specific topics within the academic community.
Even though the pandemic kept us away from students during the summer, the current leadership has been working behind the scenes with on- going improvements to the six-decades- old Student Union to provide a home- like environment and a place to socialize.
Associated Students has been working closely with the administration to solve student concerns regarding multiple issues. Most importantly, we are proud to announce that A.S. has the honor to represent Imperial Valley students, with two historical seats on the Senate that will be held by one undergraduate student and one graduate student.
Now, with an open campus, A.S. invites all students to reach out and build a relationship with the officers. We are excited to welcome our SDSU IV community to our weekly A.S. Meetings that take place in the Nogales Conference Room every Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. We encourage them to attend in order to get involved in the many decisions taken within the student body.
