ICSO steps up traffic enforcement in special operation

The Sheriff ’s Office made dozens of traffic stops Wednesday and Thursday under a special operation dubbed “Operation Stonegarden,” Masad said.

Many of the stops were for speeding with drivers pulled over for going as fast as 92 mph, agency logs state. Other stops were for illegally tinted windows and a license plate not visible.

Many of the stops were made at the intersection of Ware and Fawcett roads in Heber, but there were also several near Brawley, Salton City and Winterhaven. However, there did not appear to be any in Holtville, which is also patrolled by the Sheriff.
