Murder suspect arrested after crash

A man wanted for homicide was arrested after a traffic collision in rural Mexicali, according to media reports.

The incident took place Friday evening at an adult school located in Guadalupe Victoria after a Honda and an SUV hit a school’s wall.

A witness told police that after the crash, several individuals fled with firearms.

Police found a loaded AK-47 and a bullet-proof vest at the scene, as well as three extra magazines. Two more vests were found in the Honda and another one in the SUV. They also found a magazine in the SUV.

The authorities arrested a man believed to have participated in a homicide that occurred minutes before.

The suspect, whose identity was not revealed, was transported to a hospital for an injury.

The arrested man is a suspected member of a criminal gang.
