Man killed in southeastern Mexicali

A man was beaten and fatally shot Tuesday evening in a southeastern Mexicali home, according to media reports.

The incident was reported to the authorities at 5 p.m. in the Fraccionamiento Rincones de Puebla II area.

A caller reported a shooting in a residence located by the intersection of Tehuitzingo and Atzitzintla streets.

Witnesses told police at the scene several shots had been heard inside the home.

Police officers found the victim’s body wrapped with a rug.

The authorities believe suspects used a shotgun and a wooden baseball bat in the attack.
