Fire destroys residence in Ocotillo.

A third-alarm fire that destroyed a home in the 1100 block of Seminole Road on Wednesday is being investigated as suspicious.

The Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services Station 6 first responded to the scene, where firefighters found a single-family home engulfed in flames.

Firefights began with defensive operations and a third alarm was requested. Crews saved three additional homes that surrounded the fire’s origin.

In addition to Imperial County Fire Station 6, Station 3 of Seeley, and Station 1 of Imperial, the Naval Air Facility, Centinela Fire Department, City of El Centro, City of Holtville and CalFire Station from Jacumba helped contain the fire.

The incident is under investigation in coordination with the Imperial County Sheriff ’s Office. Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to contact ICSO at (442) 265-2021.
