Scant info on Holtville blaze

A house fire was reported on Chestnut Avenue at 4:04 p.m. Thursday by a passerby who saw flames coming from the dwelling, the Sheriff ’s logs state. It was not immediately known if anyone was in the dwelling.

Holtville Fire Chief Alex Silva did not return a call Friday seeking comment. The message for him was left at the city manager’s office because Silva’s voicemail stated his mailbox was unable to receive messages because it was full. The number, (760) 3562673, is listed as the main number for the Fire Department on the city website.
