Migrant group included past sex offender
A group of seven undocumented migrants apprehended by El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents Monday morning included one with a prior sexual offense conviction, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection release.
The release said agents intercepted the group about 2:12 a.m. in the desert area east of Calexico. After it was established none of the group was in the United States legally, agents transported them to the El Centro Sector Processing Center for follow-up. That’s when it was discovered a 53-year-old male Colombian national in the group had previously been convicted in his home country of incest and sexual acts with a minor under 14.
The release said U.S. Border Patrol will process all the individuals accordingly.
