Man found dead inside canal vault
A man was found dead Wednesday morning inside a canal vault near an eastern Mexicali boulevard, according to media reports.
The incident was reported to the authorities at 9:30 a.m. by the intersection of Gómez Morín and Independencia avenues.
A reporting party told the police about an unconscious man found in the area.
Paramedics declared the man dead in the area. Authorities reportedly found a bottle of cheap tequila near the corpse.
The man was described as an individual in his 50s who was apparently homeless. The body was covered by a blanket.
The first reports indicated that the man had no visible injuries.
