CUHS Athletics selected for grant from Los Angeles Chargers

Central Union High School Athletics was selected to receive the Chargers Champion School Grant Program. According to the Chargers web page, this year’s grant amounts for high schools range up to $70,000.

On May 5, CUHS shared through their social media, that the grant will be used to upgrade the weight room with new bumper plates and dumbbells and add a new fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio equipment.

The Chargers Champion School Grant Program is designed to work in partnershi­p with local schools in San Diego and the Imperial Valley, to improve the physical literacy of students by expanding physical fitness, nutrition, and athletic programs.
