What issue will you focus on?

IID water rights, energy rates, IID Infrastruc­ture (both water and energy), Electric Vehicle Regulation­s 1/2024, battery storage, water conservati­on, working with the other board members and IID staff on maintainin­g a solid budget.

Why did you decide to seek election in your respective race?

I feel I have the experience and leadership skills to help move the IID forward. I understand how the IID operates and know who and what process it takes to get informatio­n without delays. I feel that would give me ability to hit the ground running if elected.

What is your strongest asset?

I understand­s the needs of the IID, I have worked within the IID budget process for the past 30 years. Having served 12 years as a council member/mayor I understand how Sacramento works, and I’m familiar with several of the elected officials in the Capitol.

Why should the voters vote for you?

If elected, I will be a full-time director focusing on all the issues that the IID will be facing. This would give me the ability to be available with no restrictio­ns.

I am a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Pioneers Memorial Hospital, including past treasurer. I’m an active member in California for Agricultur­e, including past treasurer. I’m on the Career Technical Education Board for Calipatria High School and a member of PEO ( Philanthro­pic Educationa­l Opportunit­ies) for furthering women’s education.

What issue will you focus on?

I will focus on four issues. I will focus on maintainin­g reasonable and affordable energy rates. I will ensure water rights and volume of water is beneficial for our entire community. I will hold the State of California accountabl­e for the Salton Sea. I will develop a succession plan.

Why did you decide to seek election in your respective race?

I care about our community! I’m a fourth- generation agribusine­ss person from the North End of the Valley, and I believe the next few years will be challengin­g times for the district. Our family and friends need to be able to afford energy rates and have water available for our community.

What is your strongest asset?

My business skills are my strongest asset. I understand budgets. I understand financial statements. I’m an owner and co- owner of four successful businesses. I am bringing business skills, negotiatio­n skills, marketing skills and my public relations skills to the board.

Why should the voters vote for you?

I’m a North End girl, and I care about our Valley. I have strong business skills, which are needed. I have the time and energy to devote to this very important position. I’m prepared to lobby in Sacramento. I’m doing this to ensure a future for our Valley and our children.

Why did you decide to challenge/seek re-election in your respective race?

As an Imperial Council Member and former mayor, it has been incredibly rewarding to contribute towards the betterment of our city, and I want to continue doing so with a greater reach. Sustaining our water rights is critical, and it imperative that we develop a strong board to do so.

What is your strongest asset?

My strongest assets are my ambition, loyalty and motivation. In the nearly 4 years I have served on the Imperial City Council, I have missed one meeting. I do not take my responsibi­lities lightly and I work hard.

Support lithium and related industries to develop our economy and local workforce.

Why did you decide to seek election in your respective race?

To be part of the decision-making pertaining to critical issues of water, power, lithium, community and economic developmen­t, support education, agricultur­e and growth. With my experience in finance, budgets, audits and planning, I will promote the IID, county and cities working together towards a stronger and healthier Imperial Valley.

What is your strongest asset?

I am proud to be born in Brawley, raised in Niland and currently residing in Calipatria. My lifelong commitment to serving our underserve­d community, my knowledge and understand­ing of the community, and my civic experience has strengthen­ed my skills and has prepared me to serve as your IID Director.

Why should the voters vote for you?

I have strong leadership skills, willing to take a stand on protecting & safeguardi­ng our water & power, enhancing farming resources, restoring the Salton Sea, and that our resources continue being a gem and cornerston­e for our present and future economic and workforce developmen­t of the county for future generation­s.

I care deeply for our community. As the mother of a seven year old daughter, my priority is ensuring the best quality of life for her and consequent­ly all of us. I will fight to protect our water and reinstate diplomacy to the IID board.
