El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents conducting anti-smuggling operations arrested a U.S. citizen who they allege was smuggling two undocumented migrants on Sunday afternoon.

According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) release, agents attempted to stop on a gray 2017 Ford Explorer on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 8 near Gordon’s Well exit about 3:55 p.m. After the driver failed to yield, a CBP air support unit near the area joined the chase.

Other agents in the area set up vehicle immobilization devices east of where the pursuit was taking place. As the vehicle approached the area agents successfully deployed the devices, deflating all four tires on the vehicle.
