ABELARDO R. FIMBRES Sept. 23, 1955 – June 29, 2022

Abelardo R. Fimbres (Abie), 66, of El Centro, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2022. Abie was born on September 23, 1955, in Brawley, to Abelardo C. Fimbres and Cruz R. Layton. He attended Brawley schools and worked in various produce jobs and his last job as a truck driver, driving as far as New York. Abie was well known to his nieces and nephews as Tio Loco whom they loved and will miss dearly. To their friends, he was known as Tio Abie and was fun and loved to act crazy around them, he was young at heart. He was preceded in death by his only son, Michael Ray Fimbres; father, Abelardo C. Fimbres; maternal grandmothe­r, Natividad Ramos; and paternal grandparen­ts, Jesus and Rita Grijalva; several aunts and uncles; and his beloved dog, Scarlett. Abie is survived by his dearly loved granddaugh­ters, Adrianna Rayleen Marie Fimbres, Imaya Ciara Fimbres; grandson, Delvonte Moore, and daughter-in-law, Ida Tate Fimbres. He also leaves behind his mother, Cruz R. (Bill) Layton; brother, Ernest R. Fimbres; sister, Diana (Eduardo) Rodrigo; nieces, Angelica (Mike) Sinclair, Samantha and Isabelle Rodrigo, Norma (Jesus) Sanluiseno; nephews, Steven Escalera, Jason (Alexis) Escalera, and Eduardo (Arianna) Rodrigo; half sisters, Irma, Patricia, Blanca, and Elizabeth Fimbres. It was his wish that he and his beloved dog, Scarlett be laid to rest with his son, Michael in Los Banos, Ca. The family would like to thank Nurse Valerie from Hospice, Tanya Fernandez and Jose Martinez from Union Care, and El Centro Acute Post for their dedication in the care they provided to our beloved Abie. Also, thank you to all his friends who helped him along the way with his appointmen­ts, visited him, and took him all his favorite snacks.

RAYMOND NERI

Nov. 10, 1969 – Nov. 12, 2022

Raymond A. Neri was born on November 10, 1969, in Brawley, CA, to Conrad and Ramona. He passed away on November 12, 2022. He attended Brawley Elementary School and Brawley Union High School. Raymond worked for the Calipatria School District as an A/C and Refrigerat­ion technician for many years. He also owned his own appliance repair company for many years. Raymonds hobbies were fishing and going to the casino. He enjoyed spending time with his doggies, Bumpy, Mimi, Smokey, and Madonna. He loved to BBQ and spend time with family. He was the life of the party and loved to make people laugh with his contagious laugh that was unique. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Martha R. Neri. He is survived by his companion, Maricela Rodriguez; stepsons, Richard Rodriguez and C.J. Rodriguez; sister, Christine (Victor) Pedroza; brothers, Conrad (Theresa) Neri, David (Emilia) Neri, Tommy (Renee) Neri, Mark (Martha) Neri, and Paul Neri; nieces, Gabriella, Brianna, Katarina, Izabella, Abby, and Cianna; nephews, Josh, Victor, Steven, Christian, Jonathon, T.J., Mathew, Isaac, Dominic and Dario and many friends. Raymond will forever live in our hearts, be missed and loved for a lifetime. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 8 - 11 am at Frye Chapel Mortuary in Brawley. Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church at 12pm. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, CA.
