GEORGE (BART) CRIMM

Oct. 2, 1937 – Dec. 24, 2022

-

Bart, 85, went home to the Lord on December 24, 2022, after a short illness.

Bart's journey began in Ballinger, Texas, in 1937, and he moved to Caruthers, CA, in 1939 with his two sisters and his parents. Bart attended Caruthers High School and graduated in 1956. He then began a journey that would change numerous lives.

Bart joined the Army right out of high school and served four years while stationed at Sinop, Turkey, on the Russian border. Following the Army, he went to Fresno Community College using the G.I. Bill, and graduated with a degree in airline mechanics, and went to work for United Airlines in the Bay Area.

He met Judy in 1960, and they were married on November 20, 1962. After leaving San Mateo, they lived in Kerman, CA; El Centro, CA; and eventually settled in Holtville, CA, from 1973 to 1999. He worked for Valley Nitrogen, Plant & Field, Union Oil Company, UNOCAL, Ingrahm Cactus, Westwood Group, and Foster Valve Corp.

In 2000, they moved to Hanford, CA. He continued working in the oil fields until 2003, and then probably his favorite job was as a salesman for Western RV in Lemore, CA, where he could share his knowledge of RV trailer towing and experiences, especially with younger people.

Bart was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Virginia Crimm.

Bart is survived by his wife, Judy; children, William (Ruth Anne) and Lori Freeman (Chris); grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Freeman, Brandi Kalin (Mike), Lori Anne Moore (Caleb), and Beau "My Main Man" Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Branden, Brooke, and Hunter; sisters, Gin Denison (Dave) and Judy Johnson (Gary); and nieces and nephews, Brett and Kimberly, Mike and Therese, Steven, David, and Amy Miller.

Graveside services will be held on January 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Hanford Cemetary in Hanford, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hanford Veterinary Hospital in Bart's name.
