ARNOLDO DIAZ LOVIO

Apr. 3, 1933 – Jan. 5, 2023

It is with heavy, but full hearts that we announce the peaceful p assing o f our treasured father, grandfather, a nd f amily storyteller, Arnoldo Diaz Lovio. H e was born in Santana, Sonora, Mexico, on April 3, 1933; one of a very l arge f amily of brothers and s isters. After making the long journey to the U.S. (several times) he chose to build a home and have a family with his wife of 50 years, Teresa, in El Centro, California.

Arnoldo enjoyed many trades in his lifetime, among them am iner, house mover, a carpenter, there was also, thankfully, o nly one days work placing dynamite inside a mountain. If y ou're his family, y ou know why we're thankful about that, and you'll a lso know he was gifted with other talents. He e njoyed t he challenge of c aptivating an audience, be it two or twenty; especially h is grandchildren with s illy stories, j okes, or s ongs. Most of a ll, h e enjoyed being outside tending to his flowers while listening to music and speaking with n eighbors a s they walk b y, and t hankfully, his green thumb was a gift that was passed onto a select few family members.

The biggest personality in o ur f amily will b e greatly missed, but fondly remembered and seen everyday in the thoughts, actions, and stories shared by his six surviving children, Helen, Arnold, Gloria, Ines, Arturo, and Terri; t welve grandchildren; a nd n ine great-grandchildren. May he r est in p eace. M ass will be February 9, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe and burial will be following the mass, at Evergreen C emetery, 10 a.m.

Per Dads wishes, there will b e no v iewing, rosary, or reception.
