On February 9 at 11:01 a.m., a reporting party requested to make a report for fraud and advised a subject possibly impersonat­ing a law enforcemen­t officer, according to Imperial County Sheriff’s Office logs. Allegedly the caller stated the fraud was done through Amazon and was asked to purchase gift cards. No further informatio­n was reported.

On February 12, at 7:48 a.m., a reporting party advised authoritie­s of a white female adult allegedly shattering windows of vehicles with rocks at the neighborho­od, according to El Centro Police Department logs. The reporting party advised that the subject dropped the rocks and began running from the location toward a warehouse in the area, then jumped the fence into a new, county-owned building in the area off of 4th Street, per the logs. The suspect appeared to be under the influence, according to the logs. The suspect, one Kristy Acosta, was booked into Imperial County Jail for vandalism, according to the logs.

On February 12, at 11:06 a.m., a reporting party called authoritie­s in reference to a Hispanic male adult who allegedly walked into Best Buy’s break room and stole an employee’s vehicle keys, according to El Centro Police Department logs. The reporting party advised the subject was sitting on the curb in front of the store. The subject, one Danny Agundez, was booked for burglary, according to the logs.

February 13 - Nothing to report.

On February 14 at 12:46 p.m., a reporting party advised authoritie­s about a Hispanic male adult allegedly having a hunting knife outside a location in the 800 block of S. 4th Street, according to El Centro Police Department logs. The reporting party informed authoritie­s that the subject was allegedly making threats to cut employees and was yelling. The suspect, Victor Ruby, was taken into custody for brandishin­g a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, and being in possession of a controlled substance. The suspect is to be detained as he is on parole until a parole revocation hearing, per the logs.

On February 15 at 6:41 a.m., a reporting party called authoritie­s in regards to finding a male adult subject around 65 years old under a blanket and covered in blood but conscious, on the 3000 block of N. 10th Street and Cruikshank Drive area, according to El Centro Police logs. The subject was breathing but not responsive to RP’s questions, per the logs. A witness noticed subject laying on the sidewalk when passing by at approximat­ely 8:00 p.m. The subject had major injuries to the legs and was flown out of county for medical attention. The subject’s injuries were allegedly consistent to the subject being hit by a vehicle, per the logs. Police went to a location in the area to review video surveillan­ce. No further info on a suspect was available at the time, according to the logs.
