Irene Jessie (Tuti) Ramos was called by our Lord J esus C hrist on February 5 , 2023. Tuti passed a way peacefully with family by her s ide. Tuti was born on December 21, 1936, in Brawley, CA, and was the middle daughter o f Ramon and Jessie Montoya. Tuti a ttended M iguel Hidalgo School, Barbara Worth Jr. High School, and Brawley Union High S chool in Brawley, CA.

Tuti married Encarnacio­n ( Chon) Ramos in 1955. Tuti was hard-working and had a variety of occupation­s t hroughout her working years. T uti worked in retail a nd in agricultur­e a nd r etired from t he U .S. Gypsum Corporatio­n, w here s he was employed as a member of t he m aintenance crew. When not at work, Tuti w as a lways busy working at home or helping family a nd f riends. The neighborho­od c hildren w ere always w elcome in Tuti's home, and Tuti w as l ike a second mom to many of t hem. Tuti e njoyed l ife and traveling with h er s ister Ramona. But most of all, she believed in the power of forgivenes­s.

Tuti was preceded in death by h er h usband, Chon; parents, R amon and Jessie; sisters, R amona, Rachel, and Rosario; b rothers, E dward, Ramon Jr., a nd Robert; and daughter, Irene "Renie" Nelmida.

With h er d eparture, Tuti w ill be w aiting in Heaven f or her s on, Encarnacio­n Ramos Jr. (Cathy); d aughter, E lizabeth G onzales (Steve); son, D avid R amos (Doris); son-in-law, Tony Nelmida; and sister, Mary Ortiz. Tuti will also b e waiting in Heaven for her grandchild­ren, J .A. Nelmida, Sunshine Mosher, Vincent Ramos, Jessica Ramos, Kristy Salazar, Desi Martinez, Levi Gonzales, K atherine R amos, and Samantha Ramos; numerous g reat-grandchild­ren; and a great-greatgrand­daughter; as well as numerous n ieces and nephews.

A Memorial/Viewing will be held a t Frye Chapel in Brawley on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 6-9 p.m. Tuti will be laid to r est on S aturday, March 4, 2 023, at Riverview Cemetery, following a p rayer of t he Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and a Requiem Mass t hat will be held at 10 a.m. at Sacred H eart C atholic Church in Brawley.
