Lydia S. Dominguez, 93, of Brawley, CA, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Saturday, January 28, 2023, surrounded by family.

Lydia was born in Brawley, CA, to her two loving parents, Antonio and Paula, on August 3, 1929. She worked hard and continuous­ly cared for everyone around her. On January 18, 1952, she married Hilario Dominguez at Saint Lucy Catholic Church in Long Beach, CA. As a mother of six, she devoted herself to her family, instilling her Catholic faith. She worked for Dr. Benjamin Lehr for many years. After retiring, she worked as a caregiver for several years. Her enjoyment was family gatherings, cooking, gardening, and traveling. She would sit for hours with her closest friend and comadre, Gavina Sabala, reminiscin­g and laughing for hours.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hilario Dominguez, and her sonin-laws, Robin Hunt and Todd Dial.

She is survived by her children, Terri Hunt, Jaime (Perri) Dominguez, Hugo (Helen) Dominguez, Ramona (Paul) Booth, Ceci Dial, Monica (Raul) Valadez, 24 grandchild­ren, 49 great grandchild­ren, and 5 great-great grandchild­ren.

Thank you to everyone for your many prayers and continued support. We would also like to personally thank everyone from Accent Care Hospice, and also a special thanks to Elsa, her caregiver. Their medical support and care made it possible to keep mom at home.

Mass will be held at Saint Margaret Mary Church in Brawley on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. Immediatel­y followed by a Celebratio­n of Life at Hidalgo Hall. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.
