SICA’S GOT A BUMP!

The telltale signs were all there. During a dinner date with husband Eric Johnson at NYC’S American Cut on Sept. 20, “He was drinking,” says an eyewitness, but Jessica Simpson — who has a reputation for enjoying her alcohol — “was not.” Then, back at their hotel, a guest noticed that Jessica, 36, “was looking a little curvy,” adding that Eric, 37, was “getting the door for her” and generally doting on the star. But the biggest sign of all came when she flew home to LA on Sept. 23. According to an eyewitness at LAX, Jessica, who was wearing a figurehugging green dress, “looked like she had a baby bump and is pregnant.” People close to Jessica are buzzing about baby No. 3. “When she and Eric returned home, a number of Jessica’s friends noticed how bumpy and thick around the middle she looked,” a pal reveals to In Touch. “And she really has that glow. She and Eric have been actively trying to have a baby since July, so everyone is convinced she’s pregnant!” Until recently, Jessica thought her family was complete. In 2014, the mother of Maxwell, 4, and Ace, 3, famously declared, “Oh, we are done. We’ve got the girl and we’ve got the boy.” After losing her baby weight — and then some — after Ace, “Jessica really got into exercise, eating right and working on having the perfect body. Being a mom to two rambunctious children, a devoted wife to Eric, staying in shape and running a fashion empire was the perfect life for her.” Until it wasn’t. “As the kids got older,” adds the pal, “Jessica started to yearn for another child. Her doctor advised her that she should do it sooner rather than later.”

She eventually convinced Eric that they should go for it. “She’s been on the baby kick for about a year, and right around her 36th birthday in July, she managed to get Eric on board,” says the friend, adding that Jessica also cut back on her cardio workouts and loosened up on her diet restrictions. “Since then, it’s been all systems go. Jessica and Eric have been having the time of their lives trying to conceive. It’s just a matter of time before they announce that they’re having baby No. 3. And they couldn’t be happier.” ◼
