GAVIN WANTS GWEN BACK
Gavin Rossdale betrayed Gwen Stefani. Now he’s bombarding her with texts saying he misses their life together
Gavin Rossdale still can’t believe that his 13-year marriage to Gwen Stefani is over. “I never thought I would get divorced,” he confessed in a new interview while promoting his band Bush’s new album, Black and White Rainbows. “There’s been a lot of pain and sadness. It really teaches you perspective on life.” He also revealed that since everything imploded in 2015, remarrying is the last thing on his mind. “I’m not sure I’ll ever go at it again,” he lamented. It’s clear Gavin’s not over Gwen. Far from it. “Gavin keeps texting Gwen,” an insider tells In Touch exclusively. “And it’s not just about their three kids [Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 3]. Gavin writes these long texts saying he misses her and misses being part of the family. Gwen is very upset, especially since he’s the one who broke up their marriage [when he cheated with the nanny].” Gwen is still vulnerable when it comes to Gavin. Even though she moved on romantically with her Voice co-star Blake Shelton, 40, 18 months ago, Gwen, 47, “has been having major anxiety about [Gavin’s messages], because part of her misses her life with him, and she thinks she’s a bad person for having those feelings,” says the insider. “But then she tells friends she remembers how badly she was hurt by him.”
Gavin has admitted he feels regret over what he did. “I mean, obviously,” he said in January when a newspaper in his native Britain asked if he wishes he’d behaved differently. “I know we all wish that, but we can’t, so I have to deal with reality. You can’t not have regrets and be human at the same time. There are a lot of scenarios [I’d like to change].” Gavin, 51, also praised his ex, gushing, “I still think she’s incredible.”
He wants her to be more forgiving. “He wants them to take coparenting classes or go to therapy together to learn how to get along again,” says a source close to Gwen. “The divorce caused a lot of lingering tension and anger between Gavin and Gwen that the kids are picking up on.” But Gwen just doesn’t feel that counseling is necessary. “She’s at a different place in her life right now, and Gavin isn’t a part of it,” adds the source. “He can try all he wants to suck her back in, but it’s just not going to happen.” ◼
