SEVEN THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT WONDER WOMAN’S STAR!

-

1. Gal Gadot has been a box-office superhero with her portrayal of Wonder Woman ($103.1 million opening weekend) — and the Israeli actress, 32, credits Beyoncé with helping her land the role! To calm her nerves before her audition, Gal blasted Bey’s “Run the World (Girls).” “I just started to dance,” says Gal, “and I let my anxiety go.”

2. Before acting, Gal completed two years of service as a combat instructor in the Israel Defense Forces. “Her background in the army,” a source tells In Touch, “prepared her for the physical endurance required for the role of Wonder Woman.”

3. She packed on 17 pounds of muscle for the role. “It was really important to make sure we were toned and fit so we really looked like tough strong Amazon warriors,” Georgina Armstrong, one of Gal’s stunt doubles, tells In Touch. Adds the source, “Gal practiced kickboxing and martial arts each week. She also loved rock climbing.”

4. When it came to her diet, Gal “insisted that fresh fruit, lean meat, fish, chickpea cakes, avocado toast and a gallon of water were handy on set at all times,” says an insider.

5. Gal’s off the market! She’s been married to Israeli real estate developer Yaron Versano since 2008. They’re parents to daughters Alma, 5, and Maya, 2 months — and aren’t done yet. “They want a big family,” says a second insider, “and are hoping to add a baby boy soon.”

6. In 2004, she was crowned Miss Israel and went on to compete for the title of Miss Universe, but failed to place in the top 15.

7. Gal isn’t your typical Hollywood beauty. “She hates makeup and loves to be comfortable,” says the second insider. “The big joke is that Gal says she’d love to show up to a red carpet someday in sweatpants and running shoes.”
