TAKE THE BRONZE

Celebs take a dip in the bronzer pond for a wow-worthy glow, but it’s not or Ew?

A summer glow is always desirable, but some stars go too far (sorry, Nina Dobrev!)

Pale winter faces? Out! Celebs are upping the sun-kissed ante with dark, sizzling summertime skin. “It’s all about looking like you’ve spent one hour too many at the beach for that gorgeous brown color without the sunburn finish,” says makeup artist Mylah Morales, who gave model Jourdan Dunn her gilded gleam, at left. “This deep glow looks good on everyone — it warms the skin, enhances features like high cheekbones and is slimming to boot.” Morales’ tip to ensuring the most natural-looking result: Opt for a bronzer one shade darker than your skin tone (red-based for cool skin and yellow-based if you’re warm). “Use a blush brush to swipe a layer over the face, blending down to the neck and chest.” Then take cues from these radiant stars for the tan technique that will work best for your skin tone. DARK? GET GOLDEN ALL OVER “Gold reflects off Jourdan Dunn’s darker skin, adding warmth to the complexion while leaving a dewy finish,” says Morales. She gave the model a lit-from-within sheen by brushing on MAC Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden, $27, maccosmetics.com from face to cleavage. LIGHT? GO CHEEK HEAVY Dusting the apples of the cheeks with a bronzer that has a pearly finish (like Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls in Beige, $11, target.com) adds an iridescent shot of vibrance to lighter skin like Sarah Hyland’s for a sun-kissed look that doesn’t overwhelm.

MEDIUM? SUN-KISSED, NOT SUNKIST

An overdose of self-tanner is the likely culprit for Bebe Rexha’s orange-tinged tan. What would look better? Morales tips to use a stick (like Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in Blaze,$24, sephora.com) to apply color to cheeks, chin and brow, then blend.

OLIVE? AVOID GOLD SPARKLES

Topping bronzer with golden highlighter created odd green shadows on Nina Dobrev’s skin. The fix? Dust a rosy blush (try Milani Rose Powder Blush in Tea Rose, $8, target.com) onto the hollows of the cheeks to neutralize any green for an even look.
