Khloé’s Twisted Baby Lie

Lamar Odom’s family speaks out after Khloé Kardashian admits she faked her struggle to get pregnant

-

She dropped the bombshell like it was nothing. On the June 11 season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloé mentioned to her doctor that despite years of insisting she’d tried in vain to have Lamar Odom’s baby and claiming she even underwent fertility treatments to help her conceive, she in fact only “fake tried” to get pregnant. “I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest,” she explained, alluding to the toxic marriage that she ended more than three years ago. “So I just kept pretending I was doing it.”

Khloé’s confession has left Lamar and his family reeling. “There’s no way to defend what Khloé did. It is disgraceful,” Lamar’s cousin, Simone Greggs, tells In Touch exclusively. “Yes, Lamar deceived Khloé with his infidelities, but she deceived him too by faking fertility treatments when she knew all along she didn’t want to bring a baby into the world. That’s betrayal.” Lamar, 37, who recently publicly came clean about his drug abuse and infidelity during their four-year marriage and took responsi- bility for his role in its demise, is so hurt to hear her words on the show. “As far as he knew,” says an insider, “they really tried to have a baby.”

Khloé’s deceit even became a major storyline. “Khloé said she felt like the outcast because all of her sisters could just get pregnant. She said to the world she wanted to have a child with Lamar,” Simone says of the reality star, who once even claimed that sharing her struggle had “helped a lot of women.” But now she’s admitting it was all a lie. “Why didn’t Khloé just tell Lamar, ‘I think we need to put off having a baby until we figure out our lives, your life’?” Simone tells In Touch. “That doesn’t make any sense to me.”

It’s a sign that there are more serious issues at play. “What Khloé describes in her behavior is very dysfunctional and symptomatic of much bigger relational problems,” explains Dr. Julie Armstrong, an La-area psychologist

who hasn’t treated her. “It’s an example of the extreme lengths she was going to to hide their problems.” Sure, she wasn’t ready to have a baby because of Lamar’s issues, and “that was a good decision on her part,” adds Dr. Armstrong. “But it is unfortunate she couldn’t stand up for herself and say, ‘ No, I don’t want a baby.’ She had to do it in a secret, surreptitious way.”

And Khloé made her lie even worse by telling the world about it, says Simone. “That, to me, was pretty low. She didn’t have to make Lamar look bad, but she put it out there on the show now and she can’t take it back,” says Simone. “If Khloé has moved on with her life, then why is she still throwing shade? If you wished him well and moved on with your life, keep his name out of your mouth. She needs to leave Lamar out of it.” ◼
