George BREAKS DOWN in the Delivery Room

George Clooney’s life is changed forever after welcoming twins with wife Amal

-

George Clooney couldn’t keep it together. As he watched his wife, Amal, 39, give birth to twins Ella and Alexander via a planned Csection in London on June 6, the new dad broke down. “He just melted. He couldn’t say anything,” says an insider. “George knew he was going to get emotional, but this was just ridiculous. He was completely overwhelmed, crying tears of joy.”

His old life is gone forever. “Witnessing the birth of his children, and seeing how strong Amal was through it all, has given George a new outlook. It’s like something switched inside him,” the insider tells In Touch, adding that the once-“hotheaded” actor, 56, has turned into a big softie. “All George wants to do is kiss his babies’ faces and play with their fingers and toes. He doesn’t even complain about having to change dirty diapers. He’s just so in love!”

He’s determined to be the best dad possible. “Everyone is very

excited about the babies,” George’s cousin Ben Breslin tells In Touch. “The big joke,” adds the insider, “is that he’s already become a helicopter parent, because he’s so involved.” The twins have made him reevaluate everything he’s done in the past, from traveling to war-torn countries to being a movie star. “George is adamant about cutting back on work. He says he’ll act less and produce more, that way he won’t be stuck far away on a film set,” adds the insider. “He doesn’t want to leave his family’s side.”

For now, they’re all staying put. “George and Amal

aren’t going to take the babies back to the States just yet,” says the insider, “but have told family and friends that they are welcome to come to their home in England to meet Ella and Alexander.” George has of course Skyped with his parents, Nick and Nina, in Kentucky. “The babies are just beautiful. They have dark hair,” Nick says. “Nina swears… the little boy looks like he has [George’s nose].” The rest of the Clooney clan can’t wait to meet the twins. “It’s been a few years since there have been babies [in the family],” his aunt Starla Clooney tells In Touch. “The whole family is happy.”

And George and Amal’s little family is now complete. “They’ve decided they aren’t having any more kids. They have their boy and girl. And George knows he’s not getting any younger,” says the insider. “He never imagined his life would turn out this way. These babies have brought him a new kind of love, and without question, he’s truly happier than he’s ever been.” ◼
