The reality star finds herself staying in yet another toxic relationship
The May 5 NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors was a nail-biter, with the Cavs ultimately besting the Canadians 105 to 103. But not all eyes were on the court: People couldn’t help but stare at Khloé Kardashian cheering on her baby daddy, Cavaliers power forward Tristan Thompson. Under normal circumstances, her presence wouldn’t cause a stir. But just a month earlier — the same week Khloé gave birth to their daughter, True — In Touch exclusively reported that Tristan had sex with a curvy stunner in November (without using protection) and then again in February. “Khloé going to the game shows how much she’s forgiven Tristan,” says a source. “She knows what he did, but right now she’s not going to even think about it.”
That terrifies — and frustrates — her loved ones. For years, Khloé turned a blind eye to ex-husband Lamar Odom’s shady ways, and they fear she’s repeating history with the 27-year-old baller. ( The cheating scandal also included an October video that surfaced in April and shows Tristan kissing one woman while being groped by another.) “Khloé’s world has been shattered — she just refuses to except it,” says the source. “Lamar cheated on her constantly and she always took him back.” Though she’s not married to Tristan, the stakes are even higher now for the 33-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star: He’s the father of the baby she’s always wanted. “Khloé would rather ignore everything to have the perfect family life and white picket fence she envisioned,” says the source. “She lives in a fantasy world.”
A world that’s 2,300 miles away from her family. Her famously protective kin, including sisters Kim and Kourtney and mom Kris Jenner, want to talk sense into Khloé, but she’s holed up in Tristan’s $1.9 million home in Ohio. “They don’t have much contact with her,” says the source. But Kim made her feelings known loud and clear on Ellen Degeneres’ talk show on April 30: “It’s just so f---ed up,” she said when asked about Khloé’s situation.
HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF Khloé once shared Kim’s opinion on infidelity. In 2016, after finally splitting from Lamar for good, she told Howard Stern that his cheating habits were “disgusting” and acknowledged that “p---y is thrown at [NBA players] all day long.” But now that she’s got True, “none of that matters,” says the source. “She told her family that Tristan gave her what she’s always wanted: a baby and a normal family life outside of LA. People begged her to leave him, but she decided to stay.”
Now Tristan, who also has a 16-month-old son, Prince, with Instagram model Jordan Craig, is even mulling siblings for True. “I’m going to keep going,” he said in a podcast interview on May 8. “I’ve got a couple more left in me.” But those close to Khloé don’t believe his happy family talk. “It’s sad,” says the source. “Everyone thinks he’ll cheat again. And Khloé will probably take him back, like she did with Lamar. There’s a pattern here — she just needs to break it.” ◼
