BETRAYED BY ONE OF THE FINAL FOUR

Becca Kufrin is left heartbroken after one of her front-runners leaves to be with his ex

The first time she was deceived, it nearly broke her. Just weeks after the Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. confessed his love for Becca Kufrin and proposed, he humiliated her on national television when ABC aired unedited footage of him breaking up with her and admitting he actually wanted to be with runner-up Lauren Burnham. Becca eventually found the strength to move on and become the newest star of The Bachelorette — but admitted Arie’s duplicity still stings. “I wish,” Becca said, “he would have been more honest with me.”

Now it’s happening all over again. Not only was one of Becca’s final four men — Colton Underwood, 26, Jason Tartick, 29, Garrett Yrigoyen, 29, and Blake Horstmann, 28 — being dishonest with her the entire time he was competing for her heart, but he actually left the show to get back together with his ex! “Becca felt absolutely betrayed,” says a source, adding that the surprise blow really messed with the 28-year-old Minnesota publicist’s mind during the final few weeks of filming and even put a damper on her engagement to the winner. “The situation made her second-guess everything that she’s been through with everyone else. She has no idea if any of the experiences she had were real or not real.”

EMPTY PROMISES The shady suitor — In Touch won’t spoil which one — assured Becca early on in the season that he was over his ex and could see

a future with Becca. She chose to trust him. “Becca was very comfortable around him and thought he was being genuine and honest about the situation,” explains an insider. “There was also a physical attraction there.”

But after he took her to meet his family during hometown dates, the guy’s ex actually showed up to talk to Becca and revealed that she and the finalist had unfinished business. “Becca felt blindsided,” says the insider. “I’m sure she regrets keeping him around. It was clear that [the guy] just wasn’t as genuine as he’d come off. He loves attention and saw the show as a good opportunity — he never thought he’d make it as far as he did.”

And Becca once again had to face that she wasn’t someone’s first choice. Her fears were confirmed when the finalist left the show only to immediately pursue a relationship with his ex. “Becca was devastated,” says the source. “She can’t believe that she let some guys go who really wanted to be with her and instead fell for someone who was just going to walk away to be with another woman…again!” ◼

JASON The Buffalo, N.Y., banker reportedly ghosted an ex to be on the show. But “Becca got a really good vibe from him,” says an insider. COLTON The former pro football player once dated Olympian Aly Raisman — and Becca’s pal Tia Booth! “If my feelings [for Tia] were strong enough, I wouldn’t have come on this [show],” he vowed to Becca. GARRETT Becca “said countless times how he reminded her of her father,” the insider says of the Reno, Nev.–based sales rep, who got married in September 2015 and divorced just six months later.

BLAKE The sales rep from Denver “is definitely Becca’s type, kind of like Arie 2.0.,” says an insider. “He’s a little immature.”
