SPECIAL LADIES
The actor, musician and TV host is first and foremost a family man
Ludacris has a lot of women in his life, and he wouldn’t have it any other way
I’m surrounded by women,” says Ludacris. But the rapper-turnedactor-turned-tv host isn’t complaining about life at home with his wife of three years, Eudoxie Mbouguiengue, their 3-year-old daughter, Cadence, his daughters Cai, 4, and Karma, 16, from previous relationships and Eudoxie’s teenage sister, Christella. “My family makes me very happy,” the 40-year-old star of the Fast & Furious franchise (whose real name is Christopher Bridges) tells In Touch. Here, the self-proclaimed “overprotective” dad talks Fear Factor ( he’s hosting Season 2 of the MTV show), fame and fatherhood.
What are some of your favorite things to do with your girls? L: A good family night would be my wife cooking and then all of us eating together and watching a movie.
How would you describe yourself as a dad? L: I’m very hands-on. I want to be there for my girls. That’s why the filming schedule for Fear Factor is really good for me.
Tell us about the show. Why did you decide to do it? L: I was a fan of the original. And I’m a big daredevil and thrill-seeker myself, so it seemed like the perfect fit.
What are some of the more adventurous things you’ve done? L: I’m a skydiving and four-wheeler freak. But I don’t like the drinking and eating stuff we do on Fear Factor. I’d rather bungee jump from a helicopter!
Sounds like something from your movies! As an actor, a musician and TV host, is it tough juggling it all? L: It’s good to be involved in multiple aspects of entertainment, but it can be a gift and a curse. We have opportunities coming at us for all three of those things, and sometimes you let something get away. But that’s a good problem to have!
How has fame changed you? L: I want to give back more. I do things like the Mcdonald’s All American Games [an annual event where high school basketball players compete and proceeds go to the Ronald Mcdonald House Charities]. I try to balance being blessed with blessing others.
Anything else you want to conquer? L: Doing television, music, movies… it’s phenomenal, so I can’t really say there’s more I want to do. I’m living my dream! ◼
