Couples who work out together stay together? That’s certainly been the case for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. Ever since the two started dating in April 2017, they’ve been inseparabl­e not only on the red carpet but at the gym, pushing each other to the max. “I enjoy working out with her,” says Alex. “We mix it up. We like to lift, and we enjoy bike riding.” The result? At 49, Jennifer has her best body ever. While she’s always focused on fitness and taking care of her body (and her world-famous butt!), she’s definitely kicked things up a notch since Alex, 43, entered her life. “I am 100 percent convinced that working out is part of what makes me so happy,” says the World of Dance judge. “I love the way working out makes me feel, so I try to keep my body hydrated and wellrested after every workout. That way I’m ready to hit it hard again the next day.” She works out first thing in the morning, often with the former Yankees slugger. “I don’t like doing it later,” she says. “It’s harder to get there when I have my day going already.” Hav- ing a trainer is also a huge help. The “Booty” singer uses David Kirsch, who says she does side-plank oblique crunches to chisel her renowned ab muscles. As for keeping her evenmore-famous derriere tight and toned, “the quickest, most effective workout for that is the platypus walk,” he says. The walking-while-doing-a-low-squat technique works “the inner thighs and lifts and tones the butt.” Jennifer is so serious about working out, she and Alex have even invested in Trufusion gym. Alex calls its Tru Bootcamp class — which tests your mobility, endurance and resilience through a combinatio­n of yoga, Pilates, kettle bells and other movement drills in a room that reaches a heat index of 120 degrees — “the best workout I’ve ever had in my entire life.” ( We’re working up a sweat just thinking about it!) The class targets every part of a person’s body, which is key for Jennifer. “Whenever I work with her,” says Kirsch, “we always work her full body. It’s all about shaping and toning the curves that God blessed her with.”
