Even in the middle of shootouts and standoffs, the bickering, bantering and bonding between Los Angeles detectives Syd (Gabrielle Union) and Nancy (Jessica Alba) doesn’t stop on this engaging action series. Syd is single, Nancy is married to a prosecutor and has a rebellious stepdaughter, but they’re both badass when it comes to the job — and have their share of secrets in their past. And yes, as indicated by

the show’s punny title, they’re easy on the eyes, a fact that functions as a gift and a curse when catching cases. (They have no problem slipping into a club’s VIP section while undercover, but their strength and smarts can also be overlooked.) Gabrielle is reprising her Bad Boys 2 role here (Syd’s the sister of Martin Lawrence’s character, Marcus, and wears a by Will Smith’s Mike), and that franchise provides the show’s buddy-cop template. Fans of that franchise may come for the action, but they’ll stay for the interaction between Gabrielle and Jessica. Move over, Martin and Will!
