Mario Dedivanovic, the man behind Kim K’s most iconic looks, speaks to In Touch about the launch of his debut namesake collection — and we’re obsessed!

The man who paints Kim Kardashian’s face shares his beauty tips and tricks

Started from the bottom, now he’s here! Mario Dedivanovic, who was just a teen when he got a job at Sephora, is celebrating his decades-long climb with a homecoming of sorts: He’s made it onto Sephora’s shelves as CEO and Founder of Makeup By Mario! “It’s been a longtime dream for 20 years,” Mario, now 37, tells In Touch about the 21-piece collection he’s been developing since 2017. Despite the fact that he’s painted some of Tinseltown’s most famous faces and has been Kim Kardashian’s go-to MUA for, well, forever, he wanted to create affordable, high-quality products for the everyday woman. “My entire collection is inspired by my beauty techniques and hacks,” he tells In Touch. “I’m so excited because for the first time ever, I’m sharing them and releasing a whole mini Masterclass series for each product on social.” Shop the entire collection at sephora.com and makeupbymario.com, and visit @makeupbymario on Instagram for his best tips and tricks.

For his Master Pigment Pro Eyeliner Pencils ($22), Mario added custom brushes to one end to soften the finish. “We’re trained to see symmetry when there are harsh lines, but when something is blended, it tricks the eye to see it as more symmetrical.”

Mario says he wanted to debut with an eye collection “because when I do makeup, I always start with eyes first.” The Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette ($48) “complements all skin tones.” Mario gave a Gabrielle Union natural, glowing finish here. Apply the Master Secret Glow Highlighter ($22) onto cheekbones, eyelids and lips. “Just dab your finger into the product and tap it on for an instant ethereal glow,” he says.
