Tarek and I Want Our Own Show

The Selling Sunset realtor and her HGTV star husband, Tarek El Moussa, are ready to take the reality TV world by storm

She’s the star of Netflix’s runaway hit Selling Sunset; he’s an HGTV fixture having recently wrapped 10 successful seasons of Flip or Flop (and two seasons of his spinoff, Flipping 101). So joining forces for their own show is a nobrainer for newlyweds Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa, who tied the knot in October. “Since we met, we’ve been talking about how great it would be to do something together,” says Heather. “It would be a dream.” Here, the realtor, 34, talks to In Touch’s Natalie Posner about married life, their baby plans (Tarek, 40, shares Taylor, 11, and Brayden, 7, with his ex-wife, Christina Hall) and her most recent splurge purchase.

So can we expect to see a Heather and Tarek reality show?

HEM: We’re both in the home space. I’m learning investments and how to flip houses, as well. I got to film with Tarek on Flipping 101, and it was incredible. We had so much fun together. So, stay tuned!

But first, Season 5 of Selling Sunset...

HEM: You’ll get to see some stuff surrounding my wedding, like my bridal shower. And then you’ll see the girls sit down and talk about some pretty serious topics and friendships. And you’ll see beautiful homes, of course!

How’s married life going?

HEM: We’re just so in love. We’re best friends and true soulmates, and I just love being married to him. I love being an El Moussa! I feel like my name is so exotic now, and I love it.

Can you give us an update on your IVF journey?

HEM: We have four embryos on ice. We’ll implant them sometime this year. We were going to do it over the summer, but we have a few trips coming up, and I want to make sure I’m fully rested and focused.

Do you know if you’ll have a boy or a girl?

HEM: Our doctor called and asked if we wanted to find out, and we were like, “We have to know now.” They are all the same gender, but we’re not saying which. We’re very excited and happy.

Is it true you weren’t always sure you’d have kids?

HEM: I didn’t have anyone in my life that I wanted to have children with until I met Tarek. Seeing how incredible and how loving he is as a dad, and how we co-parent together very well...I just couldn’t imagine not creating something with him.

You’re getting practice as a stepmom.

HEM: I raise them like they’re mine. I love them. Raising a good human is hard, but I’m doing it. I love it, and I’m good at it.

Tarek’s ex, Christina, just remarried. Do you do things together?

HEM: We keep it separate and focus on raising the kids how we want to at our house and healthy habits here. But we do communicate for the children.

And you’re still pals with her ex Ant Anstead. Have you met his girlfriend, Renée Zellweger?

HEM: I was briefly around her once. She’s lovely. They seem very happy, so congratulations to them! ◼
