Princess Kate begs Prince Harry to spare his big brother in Harry’s shocking new tell-all

It’s promising to be a bombshell. In his memoir, Spare, Prince Harry is “writing about some moments from his life publicly for the first time with raw, unflinching honesty,” his publisher said on Oct. 27. That likely includes a lot of stories his brother, Prince William, would like to keep private. “Harry holds the key to a royal safe full of William’s secrets, and now he may expose them,” says a source. “William feels completely betrayed! The conflict between the brothers has rocketed into a full-blown war.” The future king, 40, is “too hard-headed” to call a truce with Harry, 38, before the book is released on Jan. 10 (the day after Kate’s 41st birthday). “But Princess Kate is desperate to do damage control. She’s always shared a special bond with Harry, so she’s reached out to him and begged him not to destroy her husband.”

SPILLING SECRETS

Harry has a lot of ammunition. “William and Harry were inseparable when they were younger and hung out in the same crowd as teens,” the source points out. “Harry could easily discuss William’s boozy nights and one-night stands.” And despite Harry’s reputation as the rebellious royal, “William had a wild streak, too, which is worse than anyone knows,” says the source. “Then there are the rumors about William’s cheating scandal and marital woes.”

William’s role in the events that led to Megxit are also a hot topic. The Prince of Wales famously questioned whether Harry was rushing into marriage with Meghan Markle, 41. “And Harry blames William for siding with the Firm and not standing up for him and Meghan,” says the source. “Kate isn’t innocent, either.” (Meghan said the palace refused to correct a story about her making Kate cry. Kate actually made Meghan cry, the duchess claimed.)

It helps that Meghan forgave Kate and called her “a good person” — and Harry agrees. “He has a soft spot for Kate, which is why he still takes her calls,” says the source. “She can empathize with his frustrations, but she pleaded with him not to take them out on William because that would ruin the brothers’ relationship forever.” ◼
